June 7th-Aug 1st 2025

Exhibition Overview:

Solstice of Light Flyer

“Solstice Light” is an upcoming group visual art exhibition that invites the exploration of the power and beauty of the summer solstice—the longest day of the year and the moment when sunlight reaches its peak. Through an array of artistic mediums, this exhibition will focus on the vibrant colors of summer, the dynamic relationship between the sun, nature, and shamanic experiences of harnessing the power of the sun. Whether through the vivid imagery of blooming landscapes, the radiant hues of a setting sun, or the interplay of light and shadow, the works will celebrate the season of abundance, growth, vitality and strength.

This exhibition offers a platform for artists to interpret the solstice through their unique artistic lens in a wide variety of visual mediums, creating an immersive experience for visitors to reflect on the energy and symbolism of this celestial event.

Theme:

The summer solstice symbolizes the height of the sun’s power and marks a pivotal moment in the seasonal cycle. This exhibition will explore how light shapes our perception of the world and connects us to the natural environment. Themes may include:

Radiant colors inspired by the sun (golden yellows, fiery oranges, bright blues, and lush greens)

Sunlit landscapes, botanical forms, and nature’s abundance

Strong human forms, harnessing the power of the sun and embracing the intensity of energetic action that solstice inspires.

Reflections on time, energy, and renewal through the lens of summer’s peak

Mediums:

Artists are encouraged to submit works in any medium that speaks to them, including but not limited to:

  • Painting and mixed media
  • Photography and digital art
  • Sculpture
  • Printmaking
  • Textile and fiber arts

The exhibition will embrace a variety of approaches to the theme—ranging from abstract and experimental work to realistic depictions of nature, light, and the sun. All works should evoke the essence of the solstice, whether through bright, dynamic color palettes, natural imagery, embodiment of sun priestess or ritual work related to sun worship, or exploration of the energetic, radiant qualities of the season.
